Pure Potions
One of our most highly esteemed and popular body care products is made right here in Brighton. Pure Potions began when founder Natalie Balmond decided to make a natural salve using traditional cooking methods to combat the chronic eczema from which her daughter suffered. She was determined to avoid petrochemicals and preservatives whilst providing a product as effective as conventional steroid creams.
The result is a wonderful range of products for both adults and infants. Particularly popular is the Skin Salvation salve giving relief to people prone to eczema or those suffering from dry, itchy, irritated chapped and troubled skin.
"Our products are 100% natural. Nothing extra is added to make them look pretty or feel creamy and light. We do not use synthetic colours or fragrances or add water to bulk out our products. Every one of our ingredients has a specific function. Every ingredient is there for a reason and because of this they provide a deeper nourishment and moisturising effect than many other skin preparations. People with eczema often suffer from a lack of essential fatty acids, so we use hemp oil which is rich in EFAs. We select herbs that have been used traditionally to reduce heat, ease itching, calm and heal the skin. A beeswax base gives our salves a rich consistency that holds the moisture into the skin."
