Celebrate with us!
21/06/11
On the Saturday 2nd July (International Co-operatives Day) Jubilee Street and Jubilee Square will be the venue for our ethical market, an opportunity for the customers and the local community to meet the people who supply the shop. From local farmers to fair trade organisations, here are a few of those involved:
Clearspring, Choc Chick, Cocoa Loco, Plamil, Sunita, Montezuma, Flax Farm, Equal Exchange, Sussex High Weald, Oakwood Farm, Tisserand, Windmill, Raw Living, Provamel, Meridian...
Fortuitously, this year also marks 30 years since Infinity Foods set up Brighton Natural Health Centre, and it’s with them that the entertainments will begin. Starting at midday, teachers from the centre will be giving demonstrations of some of the classes they have to offer. From Chi Gong and yoga to hula-hooping, they will be taking us through to 2pm, leading us onto a game show hosted by Lindsay Morris (of Vavavoom fame). With food from Infinity Café and organic drink from local brewers, the afternoon will continue with music and dancing from local bands Zora & the Tatsmiths, The Silver Sounds Samba and finalising with Ultraswing Jazz. The event will finish at 17.30
