Infinity at Seedy Sunday 7th February

21/01/10

Following the success of last year (and because we love being involved with this wonderful community event) Infinity Foods will be at both Seedy Sunday in Hove and Seedy Saturday in Lewes selling organic seed potatoes.  These annual seed swapping events will be taking place on Saturday 6th February at Southover Grange, Lewes 10.30am - 3.30pm and Sunday 7th February at Hove Town Hall 10.00am - 4.30pm. We really look forward to seeing lots of our customers there!

For those of you who haven't heard about Seedy Sunday before then let me ellaborate: Seedy Sunday the country's biggest community seed swap is in its 9th year. It  has grown to include talks, demonstrations, displays, plant sales, second hand books, a cafe and other activities that make the event so lively. But at heart it remains a community seed swap: a place where experienced and aspiring growers from the same area share seeds for the following year's crop and tips on how to grow them.

Seedy Sunday offers people a fun and practical way to grow 'outlawed' fruit, vegetables and herb varieties whilst helping support a vibrant local food growing culture. Where else would you find a District Nurse, a Nun's Belly Button, a Lazy Housewife, a Fat Lazy Blonde and a Drunken Woman all in the same room?

On Sunday 7th February 2010 Hove Town Hall will be jumping with the sound of people swapping, chatting, listening, learning, sharing, enjoying. You can swap seeds or make a donation if you have no seeds to swap, buy seed potatoes, talk to seed doctors, and be inspired by exhibitions, and talks on the importance of biodiversity.

Seedy Sunday is organised by a small group of dedicated volunteers and sponsored by Infinity Foods. See their website for more details
