Organic Principles
Firmly rooted in the founding ethics of the company in 1970, right through to its place at the heart of Infinity Foods today, is a deep commitment to and support for organic principles.
We believe that the use of pesticides and fertilizers in food production is not only adding harmful toxins and chemicals to our food and thereby affecting our health; it also has a damaging impact on the environment.
In recent years the organic market has grown alongside increasing consumer demand for organic produce. This has enabled us to stock an ever-growing number of organic lines which we source both locally, supporting farmers, producers and the local economy in Sussex, as well as from developing countries.
In many of these countries, they do not have the same regulations as we have in the EU on
permitted pesticides and farming methods. In supporting organic farming methods in these areas, we guarantee that we are doing our best to enable producers there to adopt farming methods that support safer working conditions and reduce the impact unregulated farming methods can have on health and the local environment.
Throughout our shop you will find over 4000 certified organic lines ranging from fresh fruit and vegetables to prepared meals and dairy produce, from biscuits, cakes and snacks to pasta, grains and flours, from confectionery to wines and spirits and from baby food to body care.
The Soil Association, the UK's leading organic charity, certifies the vast majority of our organic lines. Soil Association certification insists on the highest standards of integrity across all sectors of the organic market.
